two humpty camel

Firstly to get explanations and apologies out of the way I'm in the thick of summer DIY projects (batten down the hatches before winter bites) and sadly just haven't had the time to blog. I seem to have spent every free minute of the last couple of weeks either perched precariously atop a ladder or visiting the DIY store. While I wait for woodstain to dry, and before yet another trip to get supplies, I was determined to at least get my 'corrupted camel' finished for Phil and Kev. Not sure if this works as a concept, based as it is on a flimsy play on words... camel hump / humpty... ...!?... ... but I'm very happy with the general look of the piece, and sketching this sure does beat sealing window frames! More DIY next week, but I hope light is at the end of the tunnel and normal blogging (whatever that is) will resume very soon.

I love it!
I don't know why, but there is something that reminds me of the second feature in the Pink Panther Animation triple-bills (a crane?) I can't quite remember and I can't find the name in a google search - it was awesome though - just like this.

Great concept - not weak at all, Double Humpty Dumpty Camel - GREAT! - I can see Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee in this too. Top stuff. Good luck with the DIY!

Love, love, love those sketches!

The finished piece is brilliant. I think it's a very original and witty concept. Your work is both polished yet spontaneous, which is a difficult balance to achieve (at least for me).

The expression on the camel is priceless (his teeth crack me up) and I just love his knees!

Great job!

When you are finished, maybe you can come to Texas and help me re-frame the door to my backyard.

I love this camel. Really top notch work as always. Just brilliant.
