I've had these lying round the desk for days... hate them to go to waste. Still stuck on the primates... they're just so much fun!

I'd forgotten just how much fun I have drawing primates...I find it curiously therapeutic.

I battled with a 'much too fat for my liking' sharpie pen today and doodled this chap... I quite like him.

The estimable Don Flores has done me the great honour of inviting me to join the fun over on Cup O'Doodle blog and here is my first effort. Don posts various styles of random abstract doodles on the blog and then various folks use these as the basis for an illustration flight of fancy. Like my other group blog endeavour A Little Bit Bunny it's a grand way of generating artwork and it's really fascinating to see how different illustrators take the same starting point but end up at different destinations.

Tourist London.

Yesterday was a very enjoyable day with old friends while they introduced their young daughter to the tiring delights of London. As I'd already set a purple gorilla precedent with a previous picture for little C I couldn't resist marking the occasion in a similar vain.  While out and about I also finally got chance to check out Gosh Comics marvellous brand spanking new shop. If you were a fan before they moved you'll be even more so now, while if comics, graphic novels and illustration are your thing make haste if you ever get into the capital!

Purple birthday gorilla...

A mate's daughter has her birthday today. She seemed amused at an earlier pic of mine... She's likes purple... Nuff said... :-) Happy Birthady Cora!

Just some gorillas... just for the hell of it

I'm still trying to decide what to do for my first screen print so it's just a couple of doodles for now. I've had this notion, whenever I'm so inclined, to sketch various things in space suits...why you ask... because I like drawing space suits :-) First one up is a gorilla... why you ask... because I like drawing gorillas!

And to follow up is a doodle diversion from todays work, a gorilla on an Eames Lounge Chair... why that chair you ask... because I'd love one!!!
